The Coach Series: The Ultimate Gift

Watching a man become a father has been nothing short of a gift. A gift I never saw coming to the extent that two very short weeks and long sleepless nights have revealed.

A little girl was brought into the world with one of the greatest gifts that she can have. And while I am sensitive to those who were not given the same, I would turn back time and give that gift to all children. A good father.

I will never worry about the direction she receives or the lessons she will be taught. And those will come from more than one man as she has two grandfathers, a great grandfather and several strong men in her life that will never steer her wrong.

But this one man, her father, has already given his entire heart and soul to her. Allowed her to take over his entire world. Our entire house.

To see him smile at her melts even the toughest parts of me. And we’re only two weeks in. I can only imagine how much this love grows month after month year after year.

We are already planning her hunting trips and our future hunting trips with her. I can’t wait to see her explore in his footsteps all the knowledge from years of stewarding the land and wildlife. The hunter's way of life.

And while i’m sure they don’t make a bow with a 7.2 inch draw, I cannot wait to watch her send her first arrow at a target. Will she find the same joy and love for it that we do? We can only hope so.

And while the world is a scary place right now for most of us, I have no fears she will navigate it with the utmost grace and confidence she will be brought up with. She is our gift. Her father is ours.
